1.    Member Societies

Each member society of FESPB pays an annual membership fee based on the total number of members at the end of the previous year. The fee is due in advance, on 30. April of the actual year at the latest. Before this date, each member society will receive an invoice of the amount due from the treasurer´s office. Payment should be performed by bank transfer at the cost of the respective society.

To facilitate correct billing, each member society is requested to send its information on the total number of members each year until 31. December at the latest. If a society fails to do so, the number of members announced in the previous year will be applied automatically by the treasurer´s office.

FESPB benefits of any case will only be provided to members societies that have paid full membership fees at least until the previous year.

2.    Personal memberships

Personal memberships are possible for individuals from any country and should be applied for at the treasurer´s office with a form available here. The current fee for personal membership is 25 € per year and individual and should be provided to FESPB for 2 years in advance by bank transfer at the cost of the applicant. Personal membership becomes effective only after full payment of the membership fee for 2 years.

3.    Industrial members

Industrial members of FESPB are highly welcome at an annual fee of 350 €. The fee is due in advance, on 30. April of the actual year at the latest. Before this date, each industrial member will receive an invoice of the amount due from the treasurer´s office. Payment should be performed by bank transfer at the cost of the respective industrial member.

4.    FESPB affiliated journals

Plant biology journals with an international peer review system can be affiliated to FESPB at a royalty fee of 1.000 € to be provided by the respective publisher. Additional support of speakers at the biannual Plant Biology Europe Congress is highly welcome. The royalty fee is due in advance, on 30. April of the actual year at the latest. Before this date, each publisher will receive an invoice of the amount due from the treasurer´s office. Payment should be performed by bank transfer at the cost of the respective publisher.

5.    Support of the biannual Plant Biology Europe Congress

FESPB will support the biannual Plant Biology Europe Congress with 5.000 € seed money one year in advance of the congress upon request at the treasurer´s office. In addition, FESPB will provide a number of grants, accorded with the local organizers, to students selected by FESPB. The grants will cover the registration fee and accommodation during the Congress, but not the cost of travelling to the Congress. Costs of accommodation and registrations fees should be billed to the treasurer´s office by the congress organizer after the end of the congress and should be based on the selected students that participated in the Congress.

Registration fees of Executive Committee members of FESPB should be billed by the congress organizer to the treasurer´s office at the end of the Congress.

FESPB will not take any reliability for any financial loss made during a Plant Biology Europe Congress.

6.    Support of other plant biology workshops, symposia, etc.

Upon application, FESPB will provide financial support to other plant biology workshops, symposia, etc. held in Europe having an international character and organized by a FESPB member. The Executive Committee will decide on this support in a case-by-case manner. Regular conferences of societies of plant biology are excluded from this support.

7.    Support of short-term exchange of young scientists between countries of member societies

Upon application, FESPB will provide financial support for the short-term exchange of young scientists (PhD students, postdocs) between Countries of member societies to learn new techniques and/or perform analyses not possible in their home institutions. 8.    Consequences of unpaid membership dues

National societies, industrial partners, and individuals that did not pay the membership dues for more than five consecutive years are removed from the list of FESPB members.

9.    Auditing

The finances of FESPB will be audited biannually by two members of the council that are not part of the Executive Committee. The auditors are elected by the council during its meeting at the biannual Plant Biology Europe Congress.
