FESPB AWARDS TO YOUNG EUROPEAN PLANT SCIENTISTS

The FESPB Awards are the Federation’s most prestigious awards. Two FESPB Awards are awarded by FESPB during the Plant Biology Europe Congresses to two young scientists selected by the FESPB Awards Committee from nominations put forward by each of the constituent Societies of the FESPB. Nominations from a senior scientist belonging to the FESPB-member’s National Society will also be taken into consideration.

Winners are sponsored to attend the PBE Congress. Furthermore, they also receive a 2,000 € prize and a certificate. Prizes are donated by two prestigious journals –Physiologia Plantarum and the Journal of Experimental Botany. The winners are asked to give a talk at the Congress and to write an article for the sponsoring Journal.

The candidates for FESPB awards must have completed his/her Ph.D. no more than six years before the start of the Congress(parental leaves are not considered in calculating this period).

For the 2020-2021 edition, due to postponement of the Plant Biology Congress date from 2020 to 2021, the candidates for FESPB awards must have completed his/her Ph.D. no more than seven years  (instead of six) before the start of the Congress (parental leaves are not considered in calculating this period). The deadline for submitting candidacy is April 10.
